Hi I'm Joanne Papini, the Maker Lab Extreme program Director and fearless leader of the daily making, inspiration, crazy experiments and projects! I'm always so excited to meet new makers and am full of gratitude to be doing something in education that offers me and all the others such passion!
This past school year I've been leading STEM challenges at the Innovation Center at Tice Creek School in Walnut Creek. It's been a blast! I created an inspiring maker-lab there that originally included: LEGO walls, PVC marble runs, take-apart electronics, upcycle/recycle bins, space wall and more!
I also provide a variety of after school maker programs including: basic engineering and electronics, sewing, show production, entrepreneurship, cosplay and prop design, youtubing...and lots more!
I see how engaged and inspired children become when building and creating. The new found confidence can be life changing!
My commitment to inventors is to provide an unforgettable experience with a new set of skills and passion for creating, learning, building and inventing!
Born and raised in Lafayette, I graduated from Acalanes H.S. in 1980. I got a degree in broadcast journalism from SDSU, started one of the first mobile aerobic dance studios and began a lifelong passion for creating businesses and inventing.
